Moses H. Cone Memorial Park
Moses H. Cone Memorial Park is home to Flat Top Manor and 25 miles of carriage and bridle trails popular with hikers, cross-country skiers, and horseback riders alike. There are two lakes on the property, Trout and Bass Lake, both stocked with their namesake fish. [North Carolina fishing regulations apply and an NC fishing license is required]. Also on the property is an apple orchard and barn, an observation tower and an old family cemetery.
The Parkway Craft Center, located inside Flat Top Manor, is open April through October, and craft demonstrations occur often on the porch of the Manor during the open months. From mid-June through Labor Day, the Blue Ridge Parkway offers short nature walks and evening talks as a part of the Naturalist Program.
