Guide to Game Day Parking

Autumn and Appalachian State University football go together like the Blue Ridge Parkway and scenic views. It's easy to come to Boone for a big game. The 2022 season schedule includes home games on September 3, 17, and 24, October 1, 19, and 29, and November 19.

For additional information on how to prepare for the game, visit our Game Day Planning Page.

Consider these game-day tips and parking options:

HEADS UP:

Please be aware that the Town of Boone has an open container law that prohibits open alcoholic beverages on public property including streets and sidewalks in downtown Boone. Appalachian State University also has similar policies on campus property. However, many parking areas permit tailgating, and some permit alcoholic beverages.

PARKING TIPS:

  • When you enter a parking lot before paying, ask if they allow tailgating. Some lots allow tailgating and some don't. If tailgating is allowed, make sure you ask if they allow grill and alcoholic beverages on the property. Again, some parking lots do and some don't.
  • The AppalCART is a FREE bus system that runs throughout the town on weekend Game Days in Boone.
    • Find Game Day route schedules at these links: Purple Route, Orange Route, and State Farm Route
    • Blue Route serves as a shuttle between the Poplar Grove Connector Parking Lot (Human Services Center) and ASU Peacock Traffic Circle.
    • Two paratransit vehicles and one bus will shuttle passengers from the Hill Street (Disability Parking) lot to the Stadium and back. Learn more at AppalCART's website.
