Elk River Road, Elk Park, NC 28622
The Elk River drops 65 feet over a wide, even ledge to form Elk River Falls and then crashes into a huge rock bowl pool. A short, steep, and moderately strenuous 0.3 mile trail takes you down to the bottom of the falls.
*Always practice waterfall safety by staying out of the water above and beneath the falls, never climbing on slippery rocks, and keeping a close eye on children. Obey all posted signage. Elk River Falls is extremely dangerous and the undertow can be fatal.
