Appalachian Ski Mountain

The NC High Country’s first ski area has been open since 1962. 2 Quad Chairlifts, 1 Double Chairlift, 2 Conveyor Lifts, 1 Handle Pull Lift. Thirteen runs, including 4 Terrain Parks. The ski area originally opened as the “Blowing Rock Ski Lodge” and was renamed to Appalachian Ski Mountain under new owners in 1968.

Opening Day is scheduled for November 21! (weather dependent)

App Ski Mountain hosts several events and competitions throughout the season. The French-Swiss Ski College on-site can provide exceptional instruction while you get out on the slopes. Enjoy ice skating, including lessons, at the Zamboni-maintained outdoor ice rink.
