WHERE ARTISTIC IDENTITY, HISTORY, AND HERITAGE ARE ON DISPLAY IN THE BOONE AREA

The Boone Area is comprised of people who want to share the creativity that has always been a part of the local culture. While in Boone, visiting the areas varied museums and facilities allows for the opportunity to soak up High Country history and culture in informative, imaginative, and interpretative ways.

Located in the heart of downtown Boone, The Turchin Center for the Visual Arts, is the largest visual art facility in Western North Carolina, Eastern Tennessee, and Southwestern Virginia and features works of art from international, regional, as well as local artist. Take time to simply gaze at the many different works of art or take part in the many interactive and social activites the Center provides to cultivate a love and appreciation for the visual arts.

Venturing outside of Boone, places where art, history, and heritage are on display are also easy to find. The Blowing Rock Art and History Museum (BRAHM), located in Blowing Rock, N.C features an impressive permanent exhibit while also maintaining the excitement that comes along with new and ever changing temporary exhibits. It is important to remember these are just two of the wonderful places where visitors and locals alike can delve deeply into the art and heritage of area residents and where there is the option to explore for just a couple of hours or devote an entire day.
