The "Festival of Lights" is free and open to the public, and you are invited to enjoy thousands of dazzling illuminations throughout the resort. Drive or stroll around Chetola Lake view glittering depictions of ice skaters, "Rudolph" reeling in a big fish, strolling carolers and many more captivating holiday scenes. The "Festival of Lights" began Thanksgiving weekend on Friday, November 24 and runs through Sunday, January 28, 2018. The displays illuminate at dusk each evening.
The weekend starts on Friday evening at the Brick Oven Bonfire Pit with the 2017 Ol' Yule Log, and old-time holiday celebration. Climb aboard the haywagon for a ride, roast marshmallows, and enjoy free hot cocoa for the whole family.
Rise and shine early to have a silver dollar pancake breakfast with Mrs. Claus at the Buckeye Recreation Center in Beech Mountain. Decorate your own snow glove and stay for a reading by Mrs. Claus of "The Night Before Christmas." It's a heartwarming event for all ages of your family.
