Top 15 Independence Day Festivities in the Boone Area

Thursday, July 4

11 am • Boone Parade, followed by watermelon, cake, and refreshments with the Mayor at the Jones House, 604 W. King Street.
11 am • Liberty Foot Parade and King Bees Concert, 3977 Railroad Grade Rd., Todd (choose costumes or banners! 10am)
7 pm • Boone 4th of July Celebration and Fireworks (9:30), with music provided by DJ Carl, local food and snack vendors. Please bring a chair or blanket. Location: Clawson-Burnley Park, 355 Hunting Hills Lane (just off State Farm Rd.)
7 pm • Grass and Brass: featuring the Mountain Home Bluegrass Boys and the King Street Brass Band. Blowing Rock School Auditorium. Fee.
8 pm • Horn In The West, Revolutionary War outdoor drama, featuring Daniel Boone. Gates open at 7:30 pm. Fee.
9:30 - 10:00 pm • Fireworks Extravaganza at Tweetsie Railroad. Free with park admission. VIP option with dining available inside the theme park for an additional fee. Free parking for the general public, while it lasts!

Friday, July 5

5 pm • First Friday Art Crawl, downtown Boone. All evening hours. W. King Street, Depot Street, Howard Street.
5 pm • Michael Reno Harrell, Luke Mears Band, Songs from the Road Band, Outdoor Concert at the Jones House, 604 W. King Street, Boone.
6 pm • Summer Exhibition Celebration at Turchin Center, 423 W. King Street, Boone. Free admission; cash bar. Featuring five new exhibits.
6 pm • Park Dance with live music, Memorial Park, 1036 Main Street, Blowing Rock. Till 8 pm.
7 pm • Music in the Valle: Shelby Rae Moore (blues-rock, strong vocals). Till 9 pm. Valle Crucis Community Park, 2892 Broadstone Road, Valle Crucis. Free; donation to the nonprofit park recommended. Food truck: Doggin' It 828.
8 pm • Horn In The West, Revolutionary War outdoor drama, featuring Daniel Boone. Gates open at 7:30 pm. Fee.

Saturday, July 6

9 am • 33rd Annual Christmas in July (West Jefferson, 9 am till 7 pm)
10 am • Blowing Rock Fourth of July Festival and Parade (2 pm), Memorial Park, Blowing Rock*. Till 4:30 pm.
10 am • Art on the Greene - bi-monthly summer art and craft festival, 140 Azalea Circle, Banner Elk. 10 am till 5 pm.
8 pm • Horn In The West, Revolutionary War outdoor drama. Gates open at 7:30 pm. Fee.
9 pm • *Blowing Rock Country Club fireworks show, 200 Country Club Drive, Blowing Rock. 

Sunday, July 7

8 pm • Horn In The West, Revolutionary War outdoor drama, featuring Daniel Boone. Gates open at 7:30 pm. Fee.
